Moulton operates from a 200,000-sq-ft facility (with access to 1.6 million-sq-ft of offsite, long-term storage) near the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

These days, a huge and growing percentage of all merchandise destined for sale at retail or direct to the consumer via DRTV, catalogs and e-commerce is manufactured, or at least partially assembled in Asia. While these goods can enter the United States via air shipment, the preferred, and most cost effective, manner of shipping is by sea, with entry to the U.S. made at West Coast ports. Of these, two giant ports account for the lion's share of this volume: Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Moulton's proximity to these ports provides it with a meaningful advantage over fulfillment firms in other parts of the country. With Moulton, marketers of goods manufactured in Asia can eliminate an entire step in the supply chain. There is no need to ship goods in bulk from the docks of Southern California to a fulfillment house hundreds or even thousands of miles away, only to face the possibility of shipping them individually back to customers or retailers in the West.

With containers incoming daily, Moulton is ideally located for JIT distribution for marketers and retailers alike.

If there is a printing "capitol" in the U.S., it might very well be the greater Los Angeles area. It has been estimated that Southern California is the home of some 2,000 printers, many of whom operate huge, multi-million dollar presses 24 hours a day.

Because of this concentration of capital-intensive equipment and the sheer numbers of printing firms, printing customers come to Los Angeles from all over the country to take advantage of low-cost, high quality work.

By virtue of Moulton's location in the midst of these printing vendors, we are able to provide printing customers with considerable savings on the expense of shipping completed printing to a fulfillment house for individual distribution. Anyone who has ever had to pay for shipments of printing over long distances knows how costly it can be. However, In many cases, local printers will deliver completed work to Moulton at no charge, because of our location only a short distance away from the plant.

Moulton's Charleston, South Carolina warehouse is located within close proximity of the ports and the industrial base. The facilities are constructed of insulated concrete panel construction, which provides a cooler storage facility with less humidity than a comparable metal or un-insulated concrete. The facilities have 100% sprinkler protection, ADT security and a six-inch reinforced concrete super flat floor system.

Moulton's transportation terminal is located within close proximity to all of the ports and has a fully enclosed container yard, which is secured by locking gates. This terminal facilitates container shipments to and from the ports, both to our warehouses and for direct shipments.
